Who Can Apply from the UAE?

The applicant must be a resident of the UAE. You can apply for a Schengen visa from any city that has a VFS visa center. Where your Emirates ID was issued doesn't matter.

• Application form – available online free of charge One application form duly completed and signed by applicant. Note: For children under 18 years old, both parents must sign the application/declaration Form/questionnaire. Passport copies of the father and mother have to be attached along with their No Objection covering letter.

• Original Passport and Passport Copy Note: The passport and the UAE resident permit must be valid at least 3 months longer than the intended date of return from Hungary. The passport must contain the signature or the fingerprint of the holder. At least 2 consecutive blank pages must be available in passport. Passport issued more than 10 years ago will not be accepted.

• Letter from local sponsor Stating designation, salary and start date of employment in the UAE or Legally translated trade license if self-sponsored.

• Leave Certificate from the Employer (NOC with leave details)

• Hotel booking - full address of the host/the hotel must be written in the application: full name, street name, no. of building, city and city code

• Up-to-date personal bank account statement for the last 6 months - original and stamped from the bank. (dependents can produce the full documents of their sponsor)

• Overseas Medical Insurance copy - covering the territory of the Member States of the Schengen Agreement and with minimum coverage of EUR 30, 000 for medical expenses, repatriation and evacuation.

• Flight ticket or flight reservation including return flight and 1 photocopy thereof.

Step-by-Step Guide to the Application Process

1. Identify visa type (Choose the right visa for your trip).

2. Begin your application (Get started with your visa application). You can also download the visa application form, complete it, print the completed form, and bring it with you to the Visa Application Centre for submission.

3. Prepare Documents: Ensure all required documents are ready and properly organized.

4. Book an Appointment:

   • If you are part of a family or group, you’ll have to book individual appointments for each member of the family or group.

5. Pay your fees: Once you have made your application, you will need to pay your visa application fee. If you download the form to print and bring to the Visa Application Centre, payment will be made at the time of your appointment. You can pay the visa fee in cash or by card at the Visa Application Centre visa application centre

6. Submit Application: Submit your visa application with all the required documents at the scheduled time of your appointment. As a general rule, at the appointment every applicant has to show up in person (this includes babies and children).

8. Collect your passport: After a visa application decision has been made, you can pick up your passport from the Visa Application Centre or have your passport returned to you by courier for an additional fee.

   • Collecting your passport in person: bring the receipt issued by the Visa Application Centre and a form of Government identification. If permitted you may be able to send a representative to collect your passport; they will need to present a letter of authorization signed by you, bring the receipt issued to you by the Visa Application Centre and their Government identification.

Processing Time

Applications accepted at the Hungary Visa Application Centre will be submitted on the next working day to the Embassy of Hungary for a decision.

The visa processing time is a minimum of 15 calendar days, provided that a complete file is submitted. Please note: the process may take longer in certain cases.
