Required Documents for Visa Application

  1. Passport: Valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended trip. The issue date must not exceed 10 years; two consecutive blank pages are required. Non-Turkish citizens require a valid Turkish residence permit with at least 3 months validity beyond the intended trip.

  2. Application Form: Must be filled out completely and truthfully in block letters and signed by the applicant. Download forms for free.

  3. Biometric Photos: Two recent color passport photos (3.5 x 4.5 cm), one to be glued to the application form and the other included with the application. The photos must have a light background, and facial features must be clearly visible.

  4. Private Car Travel: Include a copy of the vehicle registration and international driving license, along with a detailed travel itinerary.

  5. Air/Train/Bus Travel: Proof of reservation (round trip).

  6. Hotel Reservation: For the entire duration of the stay.

  7. Travel Health Insurance: Must cover at least EUR 30,000 per illness, valid for all Schengen countries. For long-term visas with multiple entries, insurance for the first stay is necessary.

  8. For Employees:

    • Employment verification on company letterhead in German or English, containing:

      • Company address and telephone number.

      • Start date of employment.

      • Position of the employee.

      • Duration of absence.

      • Name and position of the signatory.

    • Payslips for the last 3 months.

    • SGK entry and SGK "Hizmet Dökümü" (QR Code document preferred).

    • Chamber of Commerce registration.

    • Commercial registry bulletin.

    • Tax statement.

    • Signature sample.

  9. For Private Business Owners:

    • Chamber of Commerce registration.

    • Commercial registry bulletin.

    • Tax statement.

    • Signature sample.

  10. Civil Registration: (Nüfus Kayıt Örneği from the Civil Registry Office).

  11. Students: Confirmation from the educational institution, including confirmation of leave or absence (not required for students on official school holidays) – Öğrenci Belgesi (preferably with QR code).

  12. Pensioners: Proof of pension (either bank statements or pension notice).

  13. Farmers: Certificate from the agricultural chamber.

  14. It is the applicant's responsibility to credibly demonstrate the purpose of residence and intent to return. Those without income (e.g., housewives, students) may present the work documentation of their guardians or custodians. Expense coverage must be submitted in writing in German or English; if not notarized, personal appearance of the guarantor at the time of application is necessary, along with a copy of the guarantor's passport data page.

  15. Proof of Financial Means: Bank statements from the last 3 months, original with bank stamp and signature specimen. Single transactions without source verification will NOT be accepted.

  16. Proof of Military Service.

  17. Traveling Minors: A notarized consent form from both parents must be included with the application. In the case of divorced parents, custody must be proven by the family register.

  18. Submission of Any Additional Passports: Including previous passports.

  19. Copies of Data Pages: Of old and current passports, as well as previous visas, should be enclosed with the application.

  20. If applicable: A simple written authorization for the messenger and a copy of the messenger's passport or ID card.

Registration Obligation

  • Those staying in accommodation in Austria are obliged to register with the local authorities within 3 days.

Processing Time

Usually, processing time for visa applications is 10 working days (starting from the time when the Embassy or Consulate received the application, not including the transportation time), counting from when all requested documents have been submitted. This period may be extended in specific cases, notably when further scrutiny of the application is required, for example, when an applicant must come to an interview or submit additional documentation requested by the Embassy or Consulate.

During certain times of the year, the processing time can be longer due to the high volume of applications. It is recommended to submit your visa application at least two weeks prior to date of travel date and if possible, even earlier ahead of the holiday period.
