Documents Required
1. Visa Application Form
Application Form with Photograph:
The Schengen visa application form must be duly completed, dated, and signed by the applicant.
Check the photo requirements via: ICAO Photograph Guidelines.
2. Travel Document
Validity Requirements:
Must be valid for at least three (3) months after the planned journey, issued within the last 10 years, and have at least two (2) blank pages.
3. Travel Medical Insurance
Coverage:
Must cover the entire Schengen area for the duration of travel, with a minimum coverage of EUR 30,000.
It should cover sudden illness, accidents, and medical repatriation.
Ensure the insurance covers you if residing in Iraq, Syria, Jordan, or Lebanon. Note: Non-Turkish residents may not purchase travel insurance in Türkiye.
4. Documents Confirming the Purpose of the Journey
Accommodation Proof:
Evidence of hotel booking or travel plan.
5. Transport Reservations
Flight Reservation:
Roundtrip reservation including possible third countries and other Schengen countries (must be verifiable with a booking number/PNR Code).
Evidence of accommodation for the whole trip.
It is not recommended to purchase tickets before visa decision. If traveling in an organized trip, provide proof from a travel agent confirming the tour booking.
6. Documents Confirming Applicant’s Circumstances
National ID:
Copy of the national ID card.
Additional Documents:
Proof of family relations (in Türkiye, obtain a complete extract of civil registry with QR-code).
Required documents must be translated into English, Finnish, or Swedish.
7. Proof of Employment
For Employed Applicants:
Letter from employer/approval for leave (translated).
SGK (social security) registration document plus SGK "hizmet dökümü."
Company registration in the chamber of commerce with a copy of the trade register.
Statement of taxes payment.
For Farmers:
Farmer certificate issued by the chamber of agriculture.
For Private Company Owners:
Company registration in the chamber of commerce with a copy of the trade register.
Statement of taxes payment (translated).
For Retired Applicants:
Proof of pension (bank account statement or pension booklet) (translated).
For Students:
Original student certificate ("Öğrenci Belgesi") with a readable QR code for university students issued by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) (translated).
8. Proof of Financial Means
Means of Subsistence:
Bank account statement for the last three months.
Proof of regular income (e.g., salary slips for the last three months).
Note: All applicants must provide proof of personal means of subsistence, even if fully sponsored.
9. Documents for Third Country Citizens
Residence Permit:
Proof of residence permit in Turkey, valid three months beyond the intended date of departure from Schengen countries (not required for certain applicants).
10. Documents for Minors
Birth Certificate:
Required for applicants under the age of 18.
Documents When Parents/Guardians Are Not Traveling Together:
If traveling alone or with one parent/legal guardian:
Notarized statement from absent parent(s) (translated).

Once you are ready to apply for a visa, please fill in the visa application form and arrange your application documents as per the checklist which accompanies your online application form.
You can also download the visa application form, complete it, print the completed form, and bring it with you to the Visa Application Centre for submission.
Prepare Documents: Ensure all required documents are ready and properly organized.
Book an Appointment: Once you’ve booked your appointment, you’ll receive an appointment confirmation email along with the letter of appointment. If you are part of a family or group, you’ll have to book individual appointments for each member of the family or group.
Pay the Fees: Once you have made your application, you will need to pay your visa application fee.
Submit Application: Attend the appointment at the visa center, submit your documents, and provide biometrics.
Track your application (Stay informed about the progress of your application).
Collect your passport: After a visa application decision has been made, you can pick up your documents/ passport from the Visa Application Centre or have your documents returned to you by courier based on the mode of delivery opted by the customer at the time of submission of Visa Application.
Processing Time
The processing of the application takes up to 15 calendar days, but can take longer if the application is not complete or when further scrutiny of the application is needed. Please note that all applications are processed individually. The Embassy may request further documentation and information or you may be called for an interview which can prolong the processing time.
Please note that as per the Article 23 of regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a Community code on Visas (Visa Code) The period of consideration of your visa application by the respective Consular authority may be extended up to a maximum of 30 calendar days. Exceptionally, when additional documentation is needed in specific cases, the period may be extended up to a maximum of 45 calendar days.
