An empty calendar usually does not mean there are no appointments. It means the last ones released were taken before you looked. Dates are released without a schedule and are usually gone within minutes. This plan goes through what actually gets people a date from the UAE, in order.

1. Why the calendar is empty: a timing problem, not a supply problem

Visa centres do not drip appointments out evenly. Dates appear at irregular times, and on a busy route a new date is booked within a minute. If you look at 3 pm you see an empty calendar and conclude there is nothing; what you are seeing is the gap between releases. The people who get appointments are usually the ones who were told the moment one appeared.

2. Know which system your destination uses from the UAE

Schengen appointments from the UAE run on VFS Global, each with its own calendar and account. If you have been checking the wrong site, the calendar was never going to fill. Visard covers 13 destinations from the UAE: Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden.

3. Apply to the right country: the main-destination rule

You apply to the country where you will spend the most nights; if nights are equal, the country you enter first. An application to a country you will not mainly visit is refused, and the fee is not returned. Changing destination only helps when your itinerary genuinely changes with it.

4. Check every centre in the UAE

Availability is not synchronised between centres and each one is assigned by where you live; ask the consulate before you book outside your jurisdiction.

Dubai

The busiest centre and by far the most applicants. Every destination Visard covers from the UAE is served here.

Abu Dhabi

Fewer dates and fewer people. Availability is not synchronised with Dubai; Visard tracks it separately.

Stop refreshing. Get told the second a date appears.

Visard checks VFS Global every 3 seconds for the destination and centre you choose and messages you on Telegram within a second.

5. Prepare every document before the alert

A date lasts about a minute once it appears. If you are still scanning a bank statement when the alert arrives, someone else books it.

  • Passport valid 3 months beyond return, two blank pages
  • Two biometric photos
  • Travel insurance, at least €30,000 medical cover
  • Itinerary and accommodation proof for the whole stay
  • Employer letter or proof of study
  • Completed online application form
  • UAE residence visa and Emirates ID valid 3+ months beyond your return
  • Three months of UAE bank statements
  • NOC or leave letter from your employer

6. Waitlists and cancellations

Cancelled appointments go back into the calendar as single dates, often at short notice, and are the most common way an “earlier slot” appears. Some centres offer a waitlist on some routes; it does not replace watching the calendar, because a waitlist notifies in batches while a cancellation is booked by whoever sees it first.

7. Premium and priority appointments

Some centres sell a premium lounge or priority slot for an extra fee per applicant, on top of the visa fee. It is a separate calendar and it also runs out; when it has dates it is the fastest legitimate route, and when it does not, it is the same waiting game at a higher price.

8. Agencies and slot resellers

An agency fills in forms and books what it sees; it does not get extra dates. Anyone selling you a specific appointment is reselling a booking made under someone else’s details, which the centres cancel. Pay for speed of information, not for a promise of a date.

9. Genuine emergencies

Medical treatment, a funeral, a court date: contact the consulate directly with evidence. Consulates can open an expedited slot outside the public calendar. This is for documented emergencies, not for a holiday that is close.

10. Use a slot alert or auto-booking instead of refreshing

Visard checks VFS Global every 3 seconds and sends a Telegram alert within a second of a date appearing. Auto-booking is not offered from the UAE today; every route is notifications, and you book the date yourself from the alert link.

11. What not to do

  • Do not book under someone else’s details or buy a resold slot; the centre cancels it.
  • Do not apply to a country you will not mainly visit; the refusal stays on record.
  • Do not use a bot that logs in with your account; a locked account cannot book.
  • Do not wait for a “release time” you read on a forum; there is none.

12. Frequently asked questions

There are no Schengen visa appointments in the UAE. When are new slots released?

There is no fixed time. VFS Global release dates at irregular times and they are booked within minutes. The way to catch one is an alert that fires the second a date appears; Visard checks every 3 seconds.

Which Schengen country is easiest to get an appointment for from the UAE right now?

It changes week by week and it only matters if your itinerary genuinely allows it: you must apply to the country where you spend the most nights. Watch the route you actually need rather than shopping for calendars.

Can a service book the appointment for me from the UAE?

Auto-booking is not offered from the UAE today; every route is notifications, and you book the date yourself from the alert link.

How much does Visard cost from the UAE?

Notifications AED 200 for one destination or AED 350 for all 13 destinations, for 31 days, no auto-renewal, one subscription for the whole group.
