Complete the form at Crovisa, upload the requested supporting files, print and sign the form, then submit the application and biometrics through the competent Croatian mission or VFS Global centre. Croatia’s MFA says applications are normally lodged in person.

Who should apply to Croatia?

Apply to Croatia only when it is your sole destination or the country where you will spend the most time. If stays are equal, the first-entry rule may decide which state is competent. The short-stay visa permits visits of up to 90 days in any 180-day period; it does not guarantee admission at the border.

Croatia’s Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs identifies VFS Global as its application route in Türkiye. The authorised Turkey portal is the safest place to confirm current centres, appointment rules and category-specific checklists.

Required documents

The exact checklist depends on your purpose and personal status. For a tourism application, prepare the following core evidence and then compare it line by line with the current official checklist:

• Completed and signed application form.

• Passport issued within the last 10 years, with at least two blank pages and validity extending at least three months beyond the planned departure from Schengen.

• Recent compliant passport photograph.

• Proof that you legally reside in Türkiye if you are not a Turkish citizen.

• Transport reservation and accommodation covering the complete itinerary. Avoid non-refundable purchases until a decision is made.

• Travel medical insurance valid throughout Schengen with at least €30,000 cover for emergency treatment and repatriation.

• Recent bank statements and proof of regular income or sponsorship.

• Evidence of employment, self-employment, study or retirement. Turkish checklists commonly request relevant SGK, chamber-of-commerce, tax or student records.

• For minors, birth/civil-status documents and notarised parental consent where required.

A VFS notice dated 21 February 2025 requires supporting documents to be uploaded as PDFs while completing the Crovisa form, organised by section, with a total upload limit of 15 MB. Bring the printed, signed form and the originals/copies required by the current checklist.

Visa fees and service charges

The standard short-stay Schengen visa fee is €90 for applicants aged 12 and over, €45 for children aged 6 to under 12, and free for children under 6. A visa-centre service charge may be added and can change, so check the provider immediately before payment. See the European Commission fee notice.

When to apply and processing time

Croatia’s MFA allows applications up to six months before travel and, as a rule, requires filing no later than 15 calendar days before the trip. Standard decisions are commonly made within 15 days, but individual cases may take up to 45 days.

2. Open the official application route and choose the correct visa purpose.

Biometrics and the 2026 EES border process

Visa-application biometrics are handled through the Visa Information System. Separately, the EU Entry/Exit System became fully operational on 10 April 2026 and records entries and exits for non-EU short-stay travellers.
