Can I apply for a Schengen visa from the UK on a BRP or eVisa?
Yes. A non-EU citizen who is legally resident in the UK applies in the UK, not in their home country, as long as UK permission is valid for at least 3 months beyond the planned return. Since the switch from BRP cards to eVisas, your UKVI share code is the proof of status; centres accept it in place of the card. Your nationality decides the documents and the fee, not where you apply.
You apply in the UK
At the visa centre for your main destination and your region. No trip home, no embassy in your home country.
eVisa share code replaces the card
Generate it on your UKVI account; it must show at least 3 months of permission beyond your return.
The calendar is the same for everyone
A BRP holder and a British spouse booking the same destination see the same dates vanish at the same speed.
Where to apply
Which consulate and centre: the main-destination rule
You apply to the country where you will spend the most nights; if nights are equal, the country you enter first. Each country uses one of three appointment systems in the UK, and the centre is assigned by where you live. Applying at a centre outside your region is usually refused at the desk.
| System | Destinations from the UK | Centres |
|---|---|---|
| TLScontact | Switzerland (France and Germany are listed but not currently covered by Visard from the UK) | London, Manchester, Edinburgh |
| BLS International | Spain | London, Manchester, Edinburgh |
| VFS Global | Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia | London, Manchester, Edinburgh (some London only) |

Every centre showing no appointments? Get told the second one appears.
Visard checks VFS Global, TLScontact and BLS in London, Manchester and Edinburgh every 3 seconds and messages you on Telegram within a second of a date, for the destination and centre you choose.

Manchester and Edinburgh
Which centres, which destinations, outside London
Most destinations are served from more than one city and availability is not synchronised between them. London has the most slots and by far the most applicants.
London
Every system and every destination. The most dates and the most competition.
Manchester
VFS Global, TLScontact and BLS all run a centre. Some VFS destinations are London-only, so check the destination page before you assume. Visard tracks Manchester separately.
Edinburgh
TLScontact (France, Germany, Switzerland), BLS (Spain) and VFS for most others, for applicants in Scotland. Fewer dates, fewer applicants.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
I’m on a UK BRP and every Schengen visa centre I try shows no appointments. What can I do?
Check the right centre for your main destination and region, check Manchester and Edinburgh as well as London, prepare your documents, and use an alert instead of refreshing: dates appear without a schedule and are taken within minutes. Visard checks every 3 seconds and alerts you on Telegram; for 17 destinations it can also book the date for you and charge only after success.
I’m a non-EU citizen living in the UK and can’t find any Schengen visa appointment slots. What are my options?
You apply in the UK to your main destination’s consulate via VFS, TLScontact or BLS. If that calendar is empty: try all three cities, get an alert on that route, and if your itinerary genuinely allows it consider a destination that is releasing more slots. Do not apply to a country you will not mainly visit; that is refused.
Are there any Schengen visa appointment slots at VFS or BLS Manchester right now, and is there a way to get alerted?
Availability changes hour by hour and none of the centres publishes it. Visard tracks Manchester separately and alerts you on Telegram within a second of a Manchester date appearing, for the destination you chose.
I’m applying from Edinburgh. Which Schengen visa centres have appointment slots, and can I get an alert when they open?
Edinburgh has TLScontact (France, Germany, Switzerland), BLS (Spain) and VFS Global (most others). Availability changes hour by hour and is not published; an alert set to Edinburgh fires only for Edinburgh dates.
Which Schengen slot alert services work for VFS and BLS in Manchester and Edinburgh, not just London?
Visard covers London, Manchester and Edinburgh for every destination it tracks, including BLS Spain, and lets you pick the city in the bot. When you compare services, check that the one you choose names the city and the system (VFS, TLS, BLS), not only “the UK”.
